Refund Policy - Iowa School of Beauty

1. The applicant not accepted by the school shall be entitled to a refund of all monies paid (less non-refundable application fee).
2. If a student (or in the case of a student under legal age, his/her parent or guardian) cancels his/her enrollment and in writing requests his/her money back within three (3) business days of signing the contract, all monies collected shall be refunded (less non-refundable application fee). The cancellation date will be determined by the postmark on the written notification or the date said information is delivered to the school administrator/owner in person. This policy applies regardless of whether or not the student has actually started training.

3. If a student cancels his/her enrollment after three (3) business days of signing the agreement but prior to entering classes, he/she shall be entitled to a refund of all monies paid less the application fee of $100.00.
4. Pursuant to 34 CFR Section 668.22 of the Higher Education Act, Section 484B, “Return of Title IV Funds”, the school must calculate the amount of Title IV funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal or termination from the school. This policy applies to ALL students. Title IV funds are funds received from one or more of the following programs: Pell Grant or Federal Direct Loans. This amount is based upon the length of time the student has completed in the payment period. After 60% of the payment period has been completed 100% of the Title IV funds may be retained. The school must return any portion of unearned Title IV funds for which the school is responsible. The school will advise the student of any amount of unearned Title IV grant aid that must be returned by the Student, if applicable.
5. The actual incurred institutional charges are determined by the tuition refund policy as established and governed by the State Law.
The School refund is based on the State of Iowa tuition refund Policy, Sec. 714.23, amended 12/2021. Iowa School of Beauty will refund all tuition charges to a student who withdraws within the first two weeks of instruction. Iowa School of Beauty shall make a pro rata refund of tuition charges to a student who terminates from any of the school’s programs after the first two calendar weeks in an amount that is not less than ninety-five percent of the amount of tuition charged to the student multiplied by the ratio of the number of scheduled clock hours remaining in the school period. If the student should terminate on or after 60% of the scheduled hours in the payment period, there is no refund.
If a student terminates their enrollment due to the student’s physical incapacity or the transfer of the student’s spouse employment to another city, the student will receive a refund of the tuition charges in an amount that equals the amount of tuition charged to the student multiplied by the ratio of the remaining number of scheduled clock hours in the school period to the total number of scheduled clock hours in the school period.
If the student or the spouse of a student (if the spouse has a dependent child) is a member of the Iowa National Guard or reserve forces of the United States is ordered to national guard duty or federal active duty, Iowa School of Beauty will withdraw from the student’s entire registration and issue a full refund of tuition and mandatory fees. Refund policy is based on enrollment time. Enrollment time is defined as the time elapsed between the actual starting date and the date of the student’s last day of physical attendance in the school. For both of the above policies, termination shall occur upon a student’s last day of physical attendance in the school.

The refunds shall be paid to the appropriate agency, within forty-five (45) days following the student’s formal termination date. Formal termination date means the student or his/her guardian/parent must terminate their enrollment in person and sign a termination form or in writing. Termination shall occur upon a student’s last day of physical attendance in the school.
If a student is absent for fourteen (14) consecutive days, the school will conduct a formal termination at that time and refund to the appropriate agency within forty-five (45) days. If a student fails to return to school after a leave of absence, the school will conduct a formal termination and refund to the appropriate agency within forty-five (45) days of the scheduled leave of absence return date. If the school cancels a course and/or program and ceases to offer instruction after enrollment and instruction has begun, the school shall at its option:
1. Provide a pro-rata refund for students transferring to another school based on the hours accepted by the receiving school; or
2. Provide completion of the course/program; or
3. Participate in a teach-out agreement with another institution; or
4. Provide a full refund of all monies paid
If the school closes permanently and ceases to offer instruction after enrollment and instruction has begun, the school will, at its option:
1. Provide a pro-rata refund of tuition; or
2. Participate in a teach-out agreement with another institution The following items are not refundable after three (3) business days have elapsed after signing the enrollment agreement and after beginning classes: nonrefundable application fee, student equipment & textbooks, manuals, and notebooks. They become the property of the student.
ISB students are expected to seriously pursue their educational goals and conduct themselves in a manner that preserves an appropriate atmosphere of learning.
In compliance with Section 103 of the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, Iowa School of Beauty will not impose a late fee, deny access to facilities or services, or assess any other penalty against a veteran or eligible dependent due to a late payment of tuition and/or fees from VA, so long as the payment is received by Iowa School of Beauty within 90 days after the date on which the School certifies or invoices for tuition and fees. This restriction does not apply in cases where the student owes additional payment to Iowa School of Beauty beyond the amount of the tuition and fee payment from the VA.
