I attended ISB in the fall of 2022 as a freshman in college to get my esthetics license and again this past year (2025) for my cosmetology license. I am now dual-licensed, working in Bondurant! Both years, I loved my experiences. You get to meet a lot of great people who want to see you succeed in this industry. The educators at ISB are amazing to learn from and will go out of their way to ensure you get the most out of your education. Iowa School of Beauty is also very transparent with financial aid. They pull you in weekly to let you know updates within your account. Kim is the financial director and is always open to answering any questions you have about financial aid. Dani, who is the head of admissions, is amazing, and you’ll never meet a more easy person to talk to. Taylor, the student director, has an open-door policy and is always there for questions/concerns or even if you just want to chit-chat. I don’t think I would’ve had better experiences anywhere else! 

I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for my time at Iowa School of Beauty. Choosing their esthetics program was one of the best decisions I’ve made, and it gave me the best career that I truly love.

Not only did I learn the skills and knowledge that helped shape me into the esthetician I am today, but I also gained confidence and a passion for this career that continues to grow every day. I’m so grateful for everything I learned and for the support and encouragement I received along the way.

Iowa School of Beauty is a very put-together program. When you walk in, there is so much love you can gain from everyone around you. The educators and other staff are truly the kindest people you can meet. They are willing to build good relationships with their students and are always willing to help when needed. No day was a bad day while I was there!! I would recommend ISB to anyone any day!

Attending Iowa School of Beauty for esthetics at 40 during a major career change was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Choosing the right school was incredibly important to me—I wanted a personalized, hands-on learning experience, and that’s exactly what I received.

My time at ISB was amazing! I made incredible lifelong friends and got to do what I’m passionate about. I couldn’t have done it without my amazing cosmetology instructors, Derrian, Heatherly, and Hannah, or my esthetics instructors, Coppi and Grace. And a huge shoutout to Dani for encouraging and supporting me to pursue both Cosmetology and Esthetics. I’m so grateful for all of you!

Before choosing ISB, my biggest challenge was choosing to follow my dream and passion without fear and finding a secure job, all while being a mother. After attending ISB, that doubt quickly disappeared – the struggle was worth the outcome and it was easier than I thought. As I got near the end of my training at ISB, I had so many job offers, many of which I thought were the perfect fit. After exploring a few mainstream salon opportunities, I found my perfect fit, a full-service men’s salon. As an independent contractor, I have built my own business and have a wonderful client base. I have learned so much from my co-workers and made lifelong friends in my company.

The sky is truly the limit once you are licensed in the beauty industry. Don’t be afraid to take that leap when your passion is calling. ISB was ultimately the greatest experience of my life. You never know where the beauty industry can take you it’s always ever changing and there’s room for elevation at all times.

ISB is not just a place to get an education, it’s a place to grow, to learn, to build, and achieve. The feeling of accomplishment never fades away as I look back on every day I spent learning, growing, and building. As a mother and a student and facing so many challenges throughout my time in beauty school it wasn’t always easy but the staff at ISB were more than happy to accommodate me any way they could to make it smooth sailing. You really do get out what you put in.
